PricePin ("we", "us") operates a community-powered grocery price comparison app in Australia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information during our private beta.

Information we collect

• Account: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers (via Supabase Auth).
• Location: GPS coordinates when you scan, report prices, or upload receipts, and location scope you choose on Feed and List (e.g. "near you" radius).
• User content: receipt images and PDFs, extracted line items, price reports, product photos (including photo-tags), votes (confirm/dispute), flags, saved list items, and scan history linked to your account.
• Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, and basic app usage needed to operate the service.

How we use information

• To provide and improve the app and community price features.
• To verify trust signals (e.g. report votes, moderation, abuse prevention).
• To communicate with you about sign-in, beta feedback, or service issues.

Who we share with

We use service providers to run the app, including Supabase (database, auth, storage), Vercel (hosting), and email delivery through Supabase. We do not sell your personal information. Community price reports and photos may be visible to other app users as part of the service.

Overseas disclosure

Some providers may process data outside Australia (for example, where your Supabase project or Vercel deployment is hosted). We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle information in line with applicable privacy standards.

Beta period

During the private beta, features may change, break, or be reset. We may delete or reset test data as the product evolves. We will try to give testers reasonable notice of major changes.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us via Contact us. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have mishandled your information.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
